Our Guarantees
Clock Guarantee
We offer a 12-month guarantee on all clocks sold unless explicitly stated.
Our 12-month guarantee is not transferable and therefore only applicable to the original transaction.
Guarantees are from the date invoiced, covering parts and labour, with the exception of springs, glasses, accidental damage, misuse, collection, and delivery.
Any repairs required that are not covered by the guarantee will be discussed prior to undertaking and will require payment prior to delivery.
All items whilst in our possession are fully insured for theft, loss, or damage
DISCLAIMER
While every reasonable effort is made to ensure that all work is carried out with great care and skill. Melorium Antiques cannot accept liability for any damage to the movement, case, glass or of a personal nature which can be attributed to metal fatigue or mechanical breakdown of any part due to age or manufacture, the use of keys of incorrect size, unreasonable winding force, unskilled or unsuitable installation and operation, the attentions of any other person whether connected with the trade or not, damage caused by accident, negligence, misuse, abuse, improper operation or failure to follow instructions, damage or malfunction following repair, attempted repair or adjustment by customer or by any other person, unless we have designated that person to do part of the work, excess wear or any kind of failure due to inherent design flaw or material defect that is well-known to clock-repair practitioners.
Additional exclusions are mainspring breakage, or damage caused by mainspring breakage; damage or malfunction occurring during movement or transportation of clock or watch by any means to or from our premises or damage appearing after a move to new location at the same address or at a new address of the clock or watch owner, or of a different owner. Timekeeping ability of the mechanism beyond manufacturer’s original expectations is not warranted. Mileage or time required for house call whether or not a house call was charged for originally is NOT covered under the guarantee.
Watch Guarantee
We are pleased to provide a 12-month guarantee on all watch servicing and repair work carried out by our workshop.
This guarantee covers defects arising from the workmanship of our technicians and any parts supplied and fitted by us during the repair.
What is Covered
Mechanical or quartz watch servicing undertaken by our workshop.
Replacement parts supplied and fitted by us.
Faults directly related to the work completed during the repair.
Regulation issues arising from the service performed.
What is Not Covered
This guarantee does not cover:
Accidental damage, impact damage, or misuse.
Water damage unless a specific water-resistance test and guarantee has been provided in writing.
Normal wear and tear.
Damage caused by magnetic fields, extreme temperatures, or environmental conditions.
Broken watch glasses, straps, bracelets, clasps, crowns, or cases unless specifically replaced as part of the repair.
Faults unrelated to the original repair.
Damage resulting from work carried out by a third party after our repair.
Vintage watches where parts are unavailable or where the condition of the watch limits the extent of repair possible. Any such limitations will be advised before work commences.
Guarantee Conditions
The guarantee is valid from the date of collection or return of the watch
Proof of repair must be provided when making a claim.
Any guaranteed work must be carried out by Dorking Clock Centre.
The guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer.
Vintage and Antique Watches
Due to the age and condition of vintage and antique watches, we cannot guarantee water resistance or future reliability of original components unless these have been specifically replaced during the repair.
Making a Claim
If you believe your watch has developed a fault covered by this guarantee, please contact us as soon as possible. Our technicians will inspect the watch and determine whether the issue falls within the terms of this guarantee.
