Description
Late Victorian/Edwardian Mappin & Webb mantel clock, circa 1900–1910, the arched mahogany-veneered case with boxwood or brass line inlay, circular enamel dial signed “Mappin & Webb Ltd, London”, with black Roman numerals, outer minute track and pierced hands, the dial within a substantial gilt-brass bezel.
The clock stands on a stepped plinth with brass bun feet and is fitted with an eight-day mechanical movement with striking.
